Like a lot of other yogi mamas out there, my kids have grown up around yoga.
They both practiced everyday with me until the day they were born and have either been around it, integrated into it or had their own “practice” since that day. It’s a way of life for us.
It is something that is so special to me. I never looked at that time as “my practice” it was always just our time together. So whatever it ended up looking like, I didn’t care. I was unattached to any idea of what that time was “supposed” to be.
One day when my daughter was 9 months old, I decided I wanted to capture my practice with her for our own preservation. I shared it with some friends, it was cute. Jump forward to two kids, I realized I had never captured our time together on the mat and decided it was time.
So many kind people have reached out to me and expressed how much they loved the video. I would read through the comments people made with tears pouring down my face and my heart full. I had no idea that it would resonate with people so much. It was just one of our many days, where I was unattached to the results and sharing time with my loves.
I was overwhelmed and so happy that it touched people in such a way. And now, another year later, I have captured again my time with my kids. They are getting older and more involved. Some days more than others. I hope to continue to document our practice together as they continue to grow and watch the evolution of our time together.
